The Big Freeze has become one of Australia’s most recognised campaigns in the fight against motor neurone disease, helping raise vital funds and awareness for FightMND each year.
Mate’s Crew is proud to be selling official Big Freeze 12 merchandise as part of our Daniher’s Drive fundraising efforts in memory of Geoff “Mate” Smalley. Every beanie and pair of socks purchased through our store helps contribute towards our 2026 fundraising goal of $20,000 by October.
All proceeds from merchandise sales go directly towards our Mate’s Crew Daniher’s Drive tally, helping fund vital MND research and support initiatives through FightMND.

Big Freeze Community Round
Last year, Mate’s Crew proudly partnered with the Warrandyte Bloods Junior Football Club as part of the Big Freeze Community Round, with a local business generously sponsoring Big Freeze socks for the Under 12 team.
It was a simple but powerful way to bring the community together, raise awareness for FightMND, and get young players involved in something bigger than the game itself.
In 2026, we would love to invite more local clubs to unite and wear the Big Freeze socks during Community Round.
The official 2026 Big Freeze Community Round runs from Friday 29 May to Friday 5 June, however clubs are welcome to host their round at any time throughout the season.
